Dee Dee's Buttermilk Scones


The most divine Cornish scones: recipe provided by my wonderful friend DeeDee



12oz self-raising flour
2oz caster sugar
3oz unsalted butter
6 fluid ounces buttermilk

Preheat oven 210 centigrade (200 for fan)


Blitz the flour, sugar and butter together, then stir in the buttermilk.  Knead the dough gently until combined.

Pat out the dough to about 1.5 inches high (no need for a rolling pin)

Cut out with a 2.5 inch cutter (or preferred size) and bake for 12-15 minutes until slightly golden.
